Mount Vernon Presbyterian School is a ministry of the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. The church and the school share facilities as well as staff. Julia Lehman, the Director of Ministry to Children and their Families, teaches weekly classes in the Pre-School and the Lower School, while Elizabeth Small, Director of Ministry to Youth and their Families, works with the Middle and Upper School students on the Glenn campus. Weekly chapel services are held in the church sanctuary. Mount Vernon church members serve on the Board of Trustees for the school. Community service is encouraged as part of the school’s mission and the church’s outreach programs. Mount Vernon students and their parents are invited to participate in many programs planned for the church. Ark in the Park and the Annual Christmas pageant are two examples of such programs. The school invites church members to participate in parenting workshops and events planned for Mount Vernon School parents.

Both the church and the school are committed to meeting the spiritual needs of children and young people. We share a dedication to instilling Christian values and developing moral integrity within each individual.  We continue to strengthen our relationship as we attempt to improve communication and understanding of our respective roles.
