Adult Ministries

Adult Ministry at Mount Vernon is promoted and coordinated by the Adult Ministry Team, a ministry team of the Session which provides opportunities for Christian nurture and fellowship for adults. These opportunities are aimed at strengthening our relationship with the God revealed in Jesus Christ, enlarging our understanding of the Christian faith and other faith traditions, and enhancing our Christian friendship with one another. Among the opportunities for Christian nurture are the following:

Sunday School for Adults - A variety of Sunday School classes is offered for adults at 9:45 am, focusing on Bible study, Christian living, Christian belief, and contemporary issues. Please see Sunday School for current offerings.

Small Groups – We offer various small groups throughout the week an ideal opportunity for people to grow in their relationship with Christ and one another. Please see Koinonia for more information and a schedule of current small groups.

Additional Opportunities – Additional short-term and long-term opportunities for adults are offered each year. These include Disciple Bible Study, Christian Believer, retreats, and seasonal studies. Please see News and Events for more information about current opportunities.

Senior Adult Ministry – The senior adult ministry at Mount Vernon has been involved in many rich and varied activities. Trips, special events, potluck dinners and other activities have brought people together for informative meetings, workshops, fun, and laughter. Please see Seniors.

Presbyterian Women – This organization is among the most active and longest standing in this congregation as well as throughout the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Presbyterian Women in our church meet in four circles, or small groups, for Bible study, fellowship, and service. Please see Presbyterian Women.
