At Mt. Vernon Presbyterian, we value our teenagers.
We want them to know how important they
are to the life of the church, and we want them to
know they have a place here, no matter what their
gifts, abilities, or interests are!
So to that end, we offer several kinds of involvement and activities:
- Separate youth groups for middle and high
school students
- Separate music programs for middle and high
school students
- Separate Sunday School classes for middle
and high school students
- Outreach projects in the community
- Outreach mission trips (domestic and international)
- Retreat experiences
- Fellowship opportunities
- Confirmation
- Leading worship
- Participation in summer youth conferences
Our focus is to provide opportunities for our
youth to develop and maintain a strong and
loving relationship with God through Jesus
Christ. We accomplish this by striving for
excellence as we:
- Foster a safe and caring atmosphere
- Study the Bible
- Value every member of the youth group, including the leaders and teachers
- Provide oportunities for fellowship and growth
- Provide outreach opportunities
- Participate wholly in the life of the church
Activities include:
Weekly Sunday School classes for middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) at 9:45.
Weekly activities such as youth group meetings, Braves games, laser tag, mission projects, and more.
Active mission to the homeless founded and run by our youth.
Service to the church family through ushering, singing/playing in the Choir or Praise Band, helping with the younger children through Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, and other activities, leading in worship, and much more
